On January 18th, the Innovation Conference on the Integrated Development of Optoelectronics and Automotive Industry was held in Wuhan. Sheng Yuechun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, attended and delivered a speech. Representatives from over 100 enterprises in the "optoelectronics-automotive integration" industrial and innovation chains, including Dongfeng Motor, China Information and Communication Technology Group (CICT), Huazhong Numerical Control (HGTECH), Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (YOFC), Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., Voyah Auto, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Xinqing Technology, Hangsheng Electronics, and Indix Microelectronics, were present.
Huang Li, Chairman of Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., and Xiang Miao, Deputy General Manager of Xuanyuan Intelligent Driving, were invited to attend the conference. They discussed new mechanisms for industrial coordination and envisioned a new ecosystem for integrated development with representatives from all walks of life.
In his speech, Sheng Yuechun stated that Wuhan is a major hub for science, education and industry brimming with innovation. Over the past year, the city's economic and social development has maintained a steady progress with a positive trend towards new growth. The comprehensive advantages of "grand strategies + high technologies + sound guarantees + low costs + broad markets + excellent supporting facilities" have become more prominent, ushering in a golden period of development featuring the elevation of urban status, expansion of positioning and overlapping opportunities. Striving for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the whole city is thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches during his inspection tour in Hubei, earnestly implementing the deployment requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, accelerating the construction of a national central city, fully building the "Five Centers", and comprehensively advancing the construction of a modern grand Wuhan.
Sheng Yuechun said that Wuhan's optoelectronic information industry is "unmatched", and the automotive industry has unique advantages, both of which have become the two major engines of economic development. As the automotive industry enters the "second half" of intelligentization, these two industries have stepped into a new stage of in-depth technological integration and industrial ecological restructuring. The holding of this conference will surely effectively promote the integrated development of optoelectronics and automotive industries, advance the linked development of the Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor and the Auto Valley Industrial Innovation Corridor, fully enhance the competitiveness of Wuhan's leading industries, and open up new channels for the innovative development of the national automotive industry. He hoped that taking this conference as an opportunity, more enterprises would join hands with Wuhan to accelerate the building of the "World Optics Valley" and "World Auto Valley", and jointly write a new chapter in the coordinated development of optoelectronics and automotive industries. Wuhan will further strengthen policy supply, scientific and technological support and factor guarantee with greater efforts, create a better industrial ecosystem, fully escort enterprise development and provide a solid backing for the integrated development of the two industries, ensuring that enterprises can invest, start businesses and live in Wuhan with peace of mind.
At the conference, Zhang Yongwei, Chairman of the China Automotive Industry Innovation Alliance (Auto 100), delivered a welcome speech. Huang Li, Chairman of Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., together with representatives from relevant districts, complete vehicle and component enterprises, supplier enterprises and Auto 100, jointly signed the Initiative on "Optoelectronics-Automotive Integration".
